The Namibia Rugby Union (NRU) Premier League dished out more high-octane action last weekend, with standout performances and thrilling scorelines across four gripping fixtures.In the weekend's biggest upset, Trustco United edged out the previously unbeaten log leader FNB Kudus in a dramatic 32-31 thriller. The victory for Robbie Dickson and Herman Lintvelt’s United team was their first of the campaign and shakes up the early title race.The Philistines showed their intent to rectify last year’s failures by racking up tries by hooker JT Basson (2) and his replacement Callie Swanepoel, as well as centre DJ Holtzhausen. After a tough loss in their opening match, the home side came out firing – led by speedy left wing Manfred Garoeb, who scored two blistering tries.“In games like this the big players have to step up, and we did just that,” said a beaming Garoeb after the match. “I’m proud of my teammates, we played really well and scored a couple of good tries.”On his sensational solo try, Garoeb added with a grin, “I am very confident in myself – also, you can’t catch a bullet!”Rehoboth flank Deevan Mathys and centre Dolano Vries also crossed the try line twice each, while captain and centre Miquel Busch calmly slotted three conversions and two penalties, steering his team to a morale-boosting win.“After losing the first game, we had to come together for our home fans,” said Busch. “We owed them that – and we delivered.”Suburbs took one bonus point home through four tries, by flanks Ethan Beuukes and Delano van Wyk, nr 8 and captain Dhale Cloete and left wing Jayden Bussel.
