Top 8 Cup quarter-finals confirmed for Swakopmund kick-off
The 2026 Standard Bank Top 8 Cup will officially get underway in Swakopmund, with the quarter-final fixtures confirmed following the official draw held in Windhoek.
The opening round matches will be staged at Vineta Stadium on 2 and 3 May 2026, marking the start of the knockout competition featuring the top eight teams from the Namibia Premier Football League.
The action begins on Saturday, 2 May, with a blockbuster opening fixture between Eleven Arrows and African Stars at 14h00, followed by FC Ongos against KK Palace at 16h30.
On Sunday, 3 May, Chula Chula will face Mighty Gunners at 14h00, before UNAM FC take on Blue Waters in the final quarter-final at 16h30.
All matches will be played at Vineta Stadium in Swakopmund, with tickets priced at N$20 via PayPulse, ensuring affordable access for fans to witness the return of one of Namibia’s premier domestic competitions.
The tournament, backed by a N$2.5 million sponsorship from Standard Bank, continues to underline its importance in developing and promoting Namibian football at the highest level.
In terms of prize money, the stakes have been significantly raised. The champions will walk away with N$600,000, while the runners-up will receive N$300,000. The losing semi-finalists will each earn N$100,000, and all participating teams will benefit from a N$50,000 preparation grant.
Beyond team rewards, individual excellence will also be recognised throughout the competition, with awards for Player of the Match in every fixture, as well as honours for Player of the Tournament, Top Goalscorer, and Best Goalkeeper.
The competition will continue through to Oshakati before culminating in the final in Windhoek, as the Top 8 Cup returns to the national football calendar with renewed excitement, wider reach, and increased financial incentives for clubs and players alike.
