Fistball enthusiasts will be entertained once again as the third fistball tournament is set to take place at SKW this coming weekend.
A total of 16 teams will participate across four categories, all vying for glory at the tournament.
Fistball Namibia spokesperson Helmo Minz said:
“The competition will be held in A and B categories, as well as in the U/13 and U/18 youth divisions.
The junior teams will start on Friday afternoon, while the first adult matches will kick off at 08:30 on Saturday.”
In the U/13 category, two teams from the host club SKW and one from Cohen will compete.
In the U/18 division, one team each from SFC and CFC, along with two teams from SKW, will take part. At the second tournament, the SKW first team claimed victory.
In the A category, two teams from CFC, two from SKW, and one from SFC will compete.
“The serial winner, CFC 1, won the last two tournaments, as well as the opening competition.
For the first time in over two decades, SFC 1 reached the finals of an outdoor tournament.
It remains to be seen whether the young team from Swakopmund can repeat that feat,” Minz added.
In Category B, two teams from the Green-Whites (SKW), along with one team each from SFC and CFC, will battle for the tournament title.
At the last event, SKW reached the podium with all three of their teams.
National Team Preparations
On Sunday, the extended men’s national squad will hold a training session.
This forms part of their preparations for the 2027 World Championship, for which the International Fistball Association is currently seeking a new host country following Germany’s recent withdrawal.
