Team Juxta, NamRA lead KACI league after second round
Volleyball, Tug-of-war
Team Juxta and Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) are currently leading the Khevare Action Capital Investment (KACI) corporate volleyball and tug-of-war social leagues after the second round matches recently concluded at Academia Secondary School’s sports field.
In the first round played in April, the top five volleyball sides ended in a 24-point deadlock. Over a month later, only Team Juxta and August 26 remain tied at 69 points.
Despite having the same number of points and both teams only having lost one match each from the 24 played so far, Juxta is ahead of August 26, which once held second position in the first round, having won more sets (47 to August 26’s 46).
In third place are Namibia Airports Company (NAC) and round one log leader Agribank, whose unbeaten run that saw them clinch the season undefeated last season has come to an end. Despite being tied on 66 points with 22 wins each, NAC holds a slight advantage, having dropped just five sets compared to Agribank’s seven.
Meanwhile, in tug-of-war, NamRA leads undefeated with 54 points after 18 matches and a flawless set record of 36-0. They are followed by NamWater Central and Social Security Commission (SSC), locked in a battle for second place. Despite each having 15 wins, NamWater has the edge with a game in hand and a better set difference ( 24 vs SSC's 21).
Speaking to this publication, NamRA captain Risto Leo said they hope to win the tug-of-war league.
