The Ongos Valley Sevens reaches its thrilling climax this Saturday, as rugby sevens teams assemble at Hage Geingob Rugby Stadium for the Championship Round, with the first kick-off at 08:00. By the end of the day, the 2025 tournament champions will be crowned, promising a showcase of speed, skill, and resilience on the sevens pitch.
After an electrifying series of regional tournaments, fifteen teams will compete across three pools for the ultimate prize, while women’s rugby takes centre stage with a high-stakes double-header featuring Wanderers Bokkies versus Rehoboth Bokkies. The women’s fixture reflects the tournament’s commitment to developing rugby at all levels, providing a platform for female athletes to demonstrate their talent and compete at a high standard.

Last year’s tournament saw Walvis Bay’s FNB Kudus lift the title in a thrilling final against United, with a dramatic last-minute try sealing a 22-17 victory. Under captain Aurelio Plato and coach Chad Plato, Kudus demonstrated remarkable resilience throughout the day, with standout performances from Aston Mukwiilongo, who was named the tournament’s most valuable player. United, despite winning every other match, settled for a well-deserved N$20 000 prize after a valiant effort in the final.
The 2025 edition promises to deliver similar excitement, with top teams from across Namibia and the Western Cape battling for supremacy.
