Ndawana off to a winning start with FFF

The Frank Fredericks Foundation (FFF) announced a N$20,000 scholarship for Ndawana Haitembu, awarded in support of her pursuit of an Honours degree in Sports Management at the University of Johannesburg.During a meet-and-greet with the FFF on Wednesday, 29 January, Ndawana expressed heartfelt gratitude for the scholarship. "This scholarship has made it possible for me to go to South Africa. It covered my medical aid, visa, and qualification evaluation—all mandatory for my studies. I am very grateful," she said.Ndawana is a dedicated athlete specialising in the 100m, 200m, and relay events, committed to both sports and education. Her inspiring journey speaks volumes about her passion and perseverance. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Sports Management from NUST in 2023, followed by an International-Level Athletes Education Programme Certificate from the World Anti-Doping Agency in 2024. On the track, she showcased her exceptional talent, winning silver medals in both the 100m and 200m at the 2024 National Senior Championships.Frank Fredericks, the founder of the foundation, reaffirmed its commitment to making goals possible for young athletes. "The Foundation firmly believes in Ndawana’s potential and is honoured to support her aspirations. Our aim is to help make possible the goals of talented athletes like yourself with the little we have. We are delighted by your dedication to both sports and education. You are doing, and have done, exceptionally well. We wish you the best with your studies," he said.The FFF was launched in Windhoek on 7 April 1999 by the then Honourable Prime Minister and late President of Namibia, Hage Geingob (RIP). The FFF awarded scholarships worth N$85,000 to athletes who excelled at the Namibia School Sport Union national athletics competition in May 2024. It also awarded four scholarships worth N$40,000 between January and April, competition travel grants valued at N$7,000, and supported the Back to School programme with N$100,000.
