Namibia to host World Jumping Challenge

Reitverein Swakopmund is set to host the first leg of the Namibian Equestrian Federation’s (NAMEF) World Jumping Challenge from 29 to 31 May in the coastal town.The International Equestrian Federation (FEI)-sanctioned event will see Namibia’s top riders compete under international benchmark conditions, allowing them to measure their performances against global standards and qualify for further international competition.The NAMEF said the event aims to develop and promote showjumping in the country while providing local riders with exposure to international-standard competition.“The courses are designed by professionals to enable local riders to compete under globally recognised conditions.“The organising committee is led by Silvia Kleyenstüber, supported by judges, course officials, a ground maintenance team, stabling coordinators and hospitality staff,” the federation said.It added that the series remains one of the few platforms where Namibian riders, competing on their own horses, can measure themselves against international standards.“This event plays a critical role in developing local talent and positioning Namibia within the global equestrian landscape.
