Namibia set for Region 5 International on the Kafue River

River Angling Namibia (RAN) has proudly announced the national team that will represent the country at the highly anticipated Region 5 International, taking place on the Kafue River in Kafue National Park, Zambia, from 24–30 August 2025.



Namibia will send a strong squad combining seasoned anglers with exciting new river fishing talent. This blend of experience and fresh energy is expected to give the team an edge in adapting quickly to the challenging waters, while showcasing the exceptional skills that have earned Namibian anglers growing recognition at international level.



The women’s team continues to make impressive strides, having gained valuable experience fishing in different waters and now confidently taking charge of their own boats. Determined and ambitious, they are eager to showcase their growing talent and carry the Namibian flag with pride.



River Angling Namibia expressed its best wishes to all participants, encouraging them to “bring the big ones home.”



National team – Kafue River, Zambia 2025

The men’s team will be represented by Riaan Bester (Zambezi), Smittie Meyer (Kavango East), Dewaal Keyser (Oshikoto, team captain), Franco Horn (Erongo), Joao Coimbra (Kavango East), Muhammed Vadi (Zambezi), Mauro Rosa (Kavango East, team manager), Walter Skutsch (Kavango East), Raymond Fourie (Erongo) and Pieter Vorster (Otjozondjupa).



The women’s team will feature Amury Pereira (Kavango East), Chante Nell (Otjozondjupa), Megan Wise (Otjozondjupa), Lo-Anne Meyer (Kavango East), Suzette Rosa (Kavango East, team captain) and Mareike Skutsch (Kavango East).

With passion, skill, and national pride on their side, Team Namibia will be aiming to make a strong impact at this year’s championship.
