Futsal Namibia is proud to announce that the U18 Girls National Futsal Team will travel to Diamniadio, Senegal, from Thursday to Sunday, to compete in the Youth Olympic Preparatory Dakar en Jeux International Futsal Tournament.
The tournament, part of the lead-up to the 2026 Youth Olympic Games, provides Namibia’s young athletes with a valuable opportunity to gain international experience and showcase their talent on the continental stage. For many of the players, this marks their first chance to represent the nation in competitive international futsal.
Coach Donawald Modise highlighted the team’s dedication: “Despite a short three-week preparation following a late invitation, the girls have displayed exceptional commitment and team spirit. Morale in camp is at an all-time high and the players are eager to make their mark in Senegal.”
The Namibia u18 girls futsal team travelling to Dakar en Jeux 2025 includes Joy Goses, Steffi Gertze, Cherifa Garoes, Julitta Berndt, Nanami Uarije, Brianna Matthias, Victoria Kangandjera, Keemeone Platt, Hanie Gomachas and Grace Eises.
Namibia’s schedule:
6 November: Namibia vs Senegal B – 15:00
7 November: Namibia vs Guinea – 13:00
8 November: Senegal A vs Namibia – 15:00
Futsal makes its debut at Dakar en Jeux this year, joining other sports such as basketball, wushu, karate and taekwondo. While Senegal, Guinea and Namibia compete in the girls’ tournament, the boys’ event will feature teams from Senegal, Morocco, Portugal and Brazil.
The festival serves as a rehearsal for next year’s Youth Olympic Games, testing teams against some of the best young talent in the world. For Namibia’s U18 girls, it is a chance to gain experience, represent their country with pride and take the first steps toward professional careers in futsal.
