Namibia scoops gold in Mauritius
Namibia won two gold medals in wrestling in Mauritius following an incredible display of skill at the Africa Beach Open competition.
Ester Abraham represented her country with pride as she won the female category.
Pieter Lafras Uys Jnr made sure that he was also a gold medal recipient in the competition.
The team also managed to win a silver medal.
Namibia came up against France, South Africa, Madagascar, Réunion and Rodrigues in the high-intensity event.
The team was accompanied by Charles van de Merve and Lafras Uys Snr, who is also attending a coaching course offered by the Mauritanian sports ministry.
Lynda Kok Shun, who is currently appointed honorary consul of Namibia in Mauritius, shared the information, stating that the team members were proud of the achievements.
