Namibia’s best cueists in world heyball battle

Namibia’s top cueists, Jermaine Davin Andrew and Celesté Espach, are currently representing the country at the Heyball Champion of Champions in Brisbane, Australia, which commenced yesterday and runs until Sunday.They were fielded by the Namibia Cue Sports Federation (NCSF) for the World Pool Association (WPA) showpiece, presented by Joy Billiards, after impressing at national tournaments.NCSF has so far sent eight athletes for international participation this year. Federation spokesperson Charmaine Kotze assured that there are still many more to come.“We would like to extend our gratitude to the Namibia Sports Commission (NSC) for always supporting the growth of cue sports, especially on the global stage,” she said.For reigning national championsThe tournament brings together reigning national champions from around the world and will feature Espach in the women’s masters division and Andrew in the senior men’s division.The playing format is a 64-player single elimination, race to seven racks for men and six for women, with each match capped at 100 minutes.
