Coastal brothers Julian and Delano Müller kicked up a storm as they successfully defended their Sub-Saharan titles at the Desert Storm 5 International kickboxing tournament held in their home town Walvis Bay on Saturday.

Julian brought the intensity when he faced and defeated South African fighter Micardo du Preez by technical knockout in the second round of their Sub-Saharan title fight.

Capping off the event with the final fight of the night, Delano also claimed victory, defeating his opponent Alen Mhango from Zimbabwe, also by technical knockout.

In the lead-up to the two main bouts, Giano Alcock from Walvis Bay (representing Namibia) fought to a draw after three rounds against Zimbabwean opponent Denzil Kamangira in a junior division championship fight.

In a senior division championship bout, with both fighters hailing from South Africa, Colin Naude subdued his opponent Jacques Visser.

More than 70 competitors representing seven nations were in action across over 150 divisions in various kickboxing disciplines.

The tournament was hosted by the Namibia Kickboxing Federation and kicked off early Saturday morning, culminating in the title fights held in the evening.

“This competition not only showcases technical excellence and sportsmanship, but also marks a significant milestone in Namibia’s expanding international footprint in martial arts,” the organisers stated.
