King Price Windhoek Gymnasium responded in style after their opening-round defeat, securing a dominant 55–14 win over Autohaus Windhoek Afrikaanse Privaat Skool (WAP) on Saturday in the NSSR Super League.The match – the weekend’s feature clash – was played at the iconic Lion’s Den and broadcast live on DStv channel 285, GoTV 25, and OneUpTwo.com.After a nervy first half, Gymnasium’s class shone through in the second stanza.Captain Vincent Scholtz said: “We struggled in the first half to settle into our structures, but once we started executing better, it all came together. This win was important for us after our opening loss.”&bull; At the coast, Samsung Windhoek High School (WHS) made it two from two with a thrilling 52–38 win over a gutsy Namib Diesel Walvis Bay Private School (WBPS) side at Naartjie Park.WHS stormed to a commanding 42–0 lead, showcasing their attacking power. WBPS rallied before halftime with two converted tries, narrowing the gap and setting up a much more competitive second half.WHS captain Pieter Jan Strydom said: “It was a great game, but we made a lot of mistakes and Walvis Bay capitalised. We’ll take the break to regroup and sharpen up.”WHS coach Jan Dames added: “We’re pleased with the result, but there’s still work to be done. The break until July gives us time to reset and focus.”Rapid progressDe Duinesig, the newly formed team combining De Duine and Duinesig High Schools, celebrated their first-ever coastal derby win, edging Inspares Pro-Ed Akademie 29–28 at the Jan Wilken Stadium.Try-scorers for De Duinesig were wing Cellistino Ngambo, centre Roberto Simbo (2) and fly-half Sergio Pamplin, who also added nine kicking points.De Duinesig coach Karl Cookson said the combined schools team showed the right decision was taken to enter the U19 premier league.“Our players show rapid progress, adapting to the higher pace. Our defence really stepped up today.”&bull; At Outjo, OK Moria continued their strong form with a convincing 57–18 victory over Farmstyle Elnatan 1 from Stampriet, maintaining their unbeaten run and marking themselves as early title contenders.Loose forward Keyo Kruger (2) and Armand Esterhuizen (2) led the try-scoring charge for Moria, along with five-pointers by Wian Maartens, Ruan Brand, Janco Slegthtner, Romario Hoeseb and Franko Engelbrecht. The winners led 24-11 at halftime.
