Du Preez top individual in Xtreme shooting day

Xtreme Steel Shooting Namibia (XSSNA) hosted their second league event at Swartrant near Mariental last weekend.

Ultra-long distances are the focus of the sport. In the sport more emphasis is also placed on the team event than the individual categories (Magnum for 7 mm or larger calibre, or non-Magnum for smaller calibre than 7 mm).

The steel targets last Saturday were placed at the following distances: 1 – 588 metres / 2 – 1418 m / 3 – 755 m / 4 – 809 m / 5 – 793 m / 6 – 935 m / 7 – 817 m / 8 – 1003 m / 9 – 475 m / 10 – 544 m / 11 – 574 m / 12 – 750 m / 13 – 702 m / 14 – 934 m / 15 – 580 m / 16 – 883 m.

The top results were:

Magnum Class individuals (maximum 400 points):

1 Mathys du Preez (345 points). 2 Gunther Jacobs (340). 3 Janus van der Merwe (335). 4 Uwe Brockmann (330).

Non Magnum Class individuals:

1 Candau Christian (210). 2 Guido Brusselbach (170). 3 Rufus Brockmann (75).

Overall best teams (maximum 2x 400 = 800):

1 Gunslingers: Janus van der Merwe and Liebies Liebenberg (650).

2 Noisy Boys: Charles Loots and Gunther Jacobs (625, on count-out).

3 Outlaws: Mathys du Preez and Dries Oberholzer (625).

4 Sons of Guns: Gus Holz and Uwe Brockmann (560).

The XSSSNA will have their next shooting event, the .22 ELR (extreme long range), on Thursday 21 March at Okahandja Shooting Club.
