Bush Bucks, Rundu Rangers gain promotion
The North East First Division promotional playoffs concluded with Bush Bucks FC of the Zambezi Region and Rundu Rangers FC of the Kavango East Region securing promotion to the 2026/27 North East First Division after impressive performances throughout the tournament.
Bush Bucks finished at the top of the standings with 10 points from four matches, while Rundu Rangers claimed second place with nine points to book the second promotion spot. Young Western Fighters of Kavango West narrowly missed out after finishing third with seven points. Members XI from Ohangwena ended fourth with three points, while Gerros Urikhob Academy from Oshikoto finished without a point.
With the playoffs concluded, the North East First Division lineup for the 2026/27 season has now been confirmed.
Kavango East will be represented by Cuca Tops FC, Rundu Chiefs, United Stars, Kangweru Black Tops, Ntunguru FC, Rundu UNAM Campus, and newly promoted Rundu Rangers FC.
The Zambezi Region will be represented by Black Hawks FC and newly promoted Bush Bucks FC, while Ohangwena will have Oshikango Chiefs, Further Fighters, and Ohangwena Nampol competing in the division.
The arrival of Bush Bucks and Rundu Rangers is expected to add fresh competition and excitement as clubs prepare for another highly competitive North East First Division campaign.
The final standings were:
Bush Bucks (Zambezi) – 10 points
Rundu Rangers (Kavango East) – 9 points
Young Western Fighters (Kavango West) – 7 points
Members XI (Ohangwena) – 3 points
Gerros Urikhob Academy (Oshikoto) – 0 points
