Confluence for ruling candidates in NSSU leagues

Hockey enthusiasts are in for a treat this Saturday as the Namibia School Sports Union (NSSU)’s hockey league title contenders take centre stage and vie for ultimate victory at the Windhoek Afrikaans Private School (WAP) Affies Park in Pionierspark.
A sight for sore eyes will be the host school’s first league boys, led by the talented Christiaan du Raan and Ludwig van Rooyen. The Affies boys won the first league for the first time last season, followed by their success in the Doc Jubber tournament earlier this year.
At 18:15 on Saturday, the yellow-and-blue will defend their title against the challenge posed by Windhoek High School (WHS) first league boys.

Later, Saint Paul’s girls’ first league final appearance promises to be equally riveting, as they were in the beaten finalist of the previous season and won the Kom en Haal tournament earlier this year.
Following St. Paul’s 2-1 elimination of the title holders WHS last weekend, they will be up against WAP in the finals at 19:45.
St. Paul’s stormed to a 7-1 win over Windhoek Gymnasium last weekend, with Jaime Gillies playing a starring role with three goals, another one scored by her sister Caitlin and additional goals by Mone Graham and Azaylee Philander.
This match’s repeat on NTV will be on Tuesday at 14:00.
Second league finals
Thrilling showdowns of the boys’ second league final will be live on oneuptwo.com and the My Zone Facebook when WAP face Etosha Secondary School at 14:15. The repeat will be on Sunday at 16:30.
The 15:30 girls’ second league final will see St. Paul’s battle it out with WAP. This match’s repeat on NTV is at 14:00 on Monday.
The hosting team’s coordinator Willem Linde said: “These finals will be exciting to watch, especially with WAP’s first league boys trying to retain the title and St. Paul’s first league girls seizing the chance to finally lift the trophy after missing it last season to the now eliminated WHS!”
