Bosbou ontdek onwettige hout-onderneming

Die direktoraat van bosbou het beslag gelê op sowat 4 000 houtplanke, wat vermoedelik onwettig geoes is, asook ʼn houtsaag in die Kavango-Wesstreek. Twee persone is in hegtenis geneem in verband met die beweerde onwettige houtonderneming.

Die bosbou direkteur, mnr. Johnson Ndokosho het vanoggend bevestig die direktoraat het tydens ʼn patrollie op die onwettige hout-onderneming diep in die woude in die gebied afgekom. Buiten vir die twee persone wat reeds in hegtenis geneem is, word daar gesoek na meer persone wat hierby betrokke was.

“Die ministerie versoek die publiek om inligting oor die vermeende onwettige hout-besigheid te verskaf. Diegene wat beplan om in sulke onwettige ondernemings betrokke te raak, word gewaarsku dat die ministerie streng teenoor hulle sal optree. Dit sluit in dat hulle potensieel hul eiendom kan verloor wat gebruik is om die misdaad mee uit te voer,” het Ndokosho gesê.
