Elke jaar op 20 November word Wêreldkinderdag gevier om die aanneming van die Konvensie oor die Regte van die Kind te herdenk.

Vanjaar streef Namibië se tak van die Verenigde Nasies se kinderfonds (Unicef) daarna om kinders se stemme in die sakewêreld te laat hoor deur die private sektor te vra om aan #GoBlue deel te neem.

Unicef wil ’n besigheidsraad skep om die noodsaaklike rol te bestuur wat die private sektor in die 2030-agenda vir kinders kan speel.

Dié raad sal die kernvaardighede, kundigheid en hulpbronne van maatskappye benut en die potensiaal van 'n sterk vennootskap tussen regerings-, privaat- en ontwikkelingsektore ontgin.

Die oorkoepelende doelwit is om 'n forum te skep wat bestaan uit die sakegemeenskap, om saam te werk en om volhoubare opbrengste vir alle Namibiese kinders te verseker.

Unicef sal die eerste besigheidsraadsvergadering op 20 November aanbied om die privaat sektor as sleutelvennoot te betrek om sodoende maatskaplike verantwoordelikheid en kinderregte in Namibië te bevorder.

“Wanneer ons mense vra om aan #GoBlue deel te neem, vra ons hulle om kinders te vier, hul regte te ondersteun en hul stemme te versterk,” lui ’n verklaring wat Unicef uitgereik het.

#GoBlue fokus daarop om 'n wêreld te help bou waar elke kind skoolgaan, veilig is en sy potensiaal kan bereik.

Ondersteun dié veldtog deur iets blou op Wêreldkinderdag te dra – of dit nou 'n rok, hemp, das of serp is.
