World Tourism Day
My Zone asked a few young people what they think can be done to revive the tourism industry in Namibia, and here is what they had to say:
Michael Shagandjwa
The country should establish more unique heritage attractions that reflect our country’s background. Create an interesting image with reservations that are worth viewing and hosting tourism expos to expose the tourism industry at large and educating them about tourism.
Dhiginina Egumbo
Well, at least prices must be lowered to ensure that the average Namibian can travel and enjoy the beautiful scenery our land offers. Advertising vigorously is essential to every form of business; it is the link between you and your customers.
Mercy Karuuombe
The international travellers should not be confined at one place for too long, for they might lose interest and might never come back. Invest in young Namibian tourism agencies, allow young people to handle the accessibility to various locations.
Eve Nanghanda
It can be done by promoting domestic travel. Namibian-owned tourism companies can survive by making travel more affordable. That would encourage Namibians to book their holidays with these companies. Arranging more tourism festivals may also help in reviving the industry.

A wise choice is to add value to a tourist attraction place and advertise it as much as possible. That would stimulate and help revive and promote domestic tourism. Establish exclusive travel partnerships among countries that have controlled the virus to allow tourism between them.

Travel bans and the fear of infection have meant that redirecting tourists, who ordinarily travel abroad, to domestic destinations could be a viable strategy. This means that promoting domestic travel will revive the tourism industry.
