'n Volkswagen kombi met meer as 14 insittendes, waarvan die meeste glo kinders was, was Dinsdagoggend vroeg by die Gaubpas, sowat 185 km van Walvisbaai af op die pad Solitaire toe, in 'n ongeluk betrokke.

Volgens die Motorvoertuigongelukkefonds (MVAF) het die bestuurder van die voertuig, waaraan 'n waentjie geheg was, in ’n draai beheer oor die voertuig verloor en het dit omgeslaan. Die waentjie het by die afgrond afgestort, terwyl die voertuig wonderbaarlik op die rant van die afgrond tot stilstand gekom het.

Volgens West Coast Safety Initiative het twee mense mediese behandeling op die toneel gekry voor hulle met 'n ambulans na die Swakopmund-staatshospitaal vervoer is.

Hulle verkeer glo in 'n stabiele toestand.
