Namibië se woestynleeus het harte én goud in New York gewen. Die dokumentêre rolprent, Vanishing Kings - Lions of the Namib, het dubbel goud by die New Yorkfees se toekennings vir die beste TV-programme en rolprente weggeraap. Dit is deur die Suid-Afrikaners en bekroonde natuurlewe-rolprentmakers, Will en Lianne Steenkamp, vervaardig en het goud in twee kategorieë, naamlik beste TV-dokumentêre en inligtingsprogram vir omgewing en ekologie en natuur en wildlewe gewen. Dit is ’n epiese viering van die uitsonderlike leeus wat by woestynomstandighede aangepas het en vertel die verhaal van die omswerwinge van ’n spesiale trop leeus in die Hoanibrivier in die Kunenestreek.
