The Zone visited Otjiwarongo Secondary School (OSS) to find out from the learners what some of their goals are for the year. This is what they shared.

Daniella Haraes

Despite the current pandemic, my goal is to see the rainbow in the midst of the storm as an individual and as a school. As a leader, I want to leave a legacy behind that will be remembered by generations to come.

Annelise Nghixulu

My goals are to succeed at my academics whilst managing my social life and not neglecting the cultural activities. With everything being completely different for us this year, I hope to have the best senior year possible by finding the joy in change.

Karien-Ann van Schalkwyk

My goals this year as the head of sport SRC of OSS is to encourage more pupils to participate in sport at the school. But as an athlete, my goal this year is to get signed by the University of Namibia because it will give me the opportunity to represent my country in the under-19 category for shotput and discus.

Nadine Shipananga

As a freshman at an amazing school, my goals this year are to make friends with my fellow pupils, have an amazing school year and, most importantly, uphold he reputation of OSS by giving my absolute best in all my subjects to obtain excellent marks.

Ian Human

The goals I want to achieve by the end of this year is to get good grades in all my subjects and also work hard as an athlete. I want to go to nationals again this year and represent my school to the best of my abilities.

Maggy Aikakanga

My hopes and goals for this year are to be one of the students in the grade eight top 10. I want to enjoy my junior year, as well as join extracurricular activities like the interactors and help the community. I also want to make a few friends here.
