Die voormalige parlementslid, eerwaarde Willem Konjore (75) het gisteraand ná 'n kort siekbed in Windhoek gesterf. Die goewerneur van die //Kharasstreek, Aletha Frederick, het in reaksie gesê Namibië het 'n ikoon verloor wat 'n belangrike rol in die vryheidstryd gespeel het.

Konjore was tussen 1989 en 2010 'n lid van die Nasionale Vergadering en was ook adjunk-spreker van 2000 tot 2005. Hy was ook 'n oud-onderwyser en voormalige minister van omgewing en ook van jeug. Konjore word deur vyf kinders oorleef. - Nampa
