Vleisraad skenk rekenaars aan veeartseny

Die Vleisraad van Namibië het 10 skootrekenaars aan die direktoraat veeartsenydienste (DVS) in die ministerie van landbou, water en bosbou geskenk.

Die rekenaars moet beamptes help om diereregistrasies en -bewegings aan te teken en permitte en navrae te rig. Die Vleisraad sê die DVS se rekenaars het oud en afgeleef geraak en moes vervang word.

“Die Namibiese lewendehawe- en vleisbedryf en sy bydrae tot die bruto binnelandse produk (BBP) is belangrik en die skenking sal help met onder meer die beweging van vee na markte," het die Vleisraad in ’n mediaverklaring gesê.

Die volgende DVS-kantore sal nuwe rekenaars ontvang: Windhoek, Gobabis, Otjiwarongo, Okahandja, Mariental, Otjinene, Karasburg, Outjo, Gam en Ondangwa.

Van links is dr. Anja Boshoff-De Wit, bestuurder van vleisstandaarde by die Vleisraad, dr. Tina Shilongo, waarnemende hoofveeartsenybeampte, mnr. Paul Strydom, hoofbestuurder van die Vleisraad, en dr. John Shoopala, adjunk- hoofveeartsenybeampte.
