Die minister van gesondheid en maatskaplike dienste, dr. Kalumbi Shangula, het bekend gemaak 'n twee weke oue babameisie is op 27 Desember op Keetmanshoop aan Covid-19 dood. Sy het tuis gesterf.
Dit bring die totale getal sterftes sedert die begin van die pandemie op 3 340 te staan. 'n Verdere 316 mense is in dié tyd aan Covid-verwante oorsake dood.
Volgens Shangula het 263 mense uit 1 475 in die jongste verslagperiode positief getoets vir dié virussiekte, wat beteken die positiwiteitskoers is 17,8%. Onder diegene wat positief getoets het, het 16 mense vantevore ook Covid-19 gehad.
Intussen het die getal mense wat volledig ingeënt is, tot 344 010 toegeneem. Dit is 22,9% van die teikenbevolking.
