Transport fuels inflation in June

Overall inflation in Namibia in June rose to 4.1%, up from 3.8% the previous month and 2.1% in June 2020. Data released yesterday by the Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA) shows the main driver of the increase was transport inflation, which jumped from 7.3% in May to 9.6% a month later. A year ago, the rate was -0.8%. Overall food inflation increased from 7.1% to 7.7%. In June 2020, the figure was 4.9%. Photo Nampa/AP
