Ronelle Rademeyer - Die veteraan-politikus, grondwetskrywer en voormalige Speaker van die parlement, dr. Theo-Ben Gurirab, is vroeër vandag (Saterdag) in die Mediclinic private hospitaal in Windhoek dood. Hy was 80 jaar oud.
'n Familielid het sy dood aan Republikein bevestig.
Na verneem word het oudpresidente Sam Nujoma en Hifikepunye Pohamba gister saam met ander Swapo-politici, vriende en familie by hom besoek afgelê.
Hy was ná onafhanklikwording Namibië se eerste minister van buitelandse sake, en is later as die land se eerste minister aangestel.
Hy is op 14 September 1999 tot president van die algemene vergadering van die Verenigde Nasies verkies - 'n amp wat hy tot September 2000 beklee het.
