Matias Ricardo is a motion graphic designer at Namibia Media Holdings and has been in this position since 2017.

His job entails handling 2D and 3D animations, designing newspaper advertisements, and animating them for social media or television. Furthermore, he designs logos and creates title sequences from them for online events.

Although his work is quite complex, he has mastered it and has perfected the skill while easily managing time.

"When you are as passionate about anything as I am about my work, then success is guaranteed. I didn't perfect my skill overnight and it took several sleepless nights and dedication," he says.

Previously, he worked at Plast Print until 2017, where he was a graphic designer. There, his duties were to design logos, flyers, and brochures, creating company profiles and posters for both online and print media.

Ricardo is zealous and always eager to learn new elements in the trade. "Most of the experience is learned as you go. You have to be open to learning and willing to experiment," he says.

Matias wrote matric in 2013 at CJ Brandt High School. He further boasts with a Diploma in Digital Media and Filming from the Bridge Institute of Learning in 2016.

In his free time, Ricardo is still working. "I create short animation videos of anything that inspires me at the time. Not only am I being paid for my hobby, but I am also constantly learning something new," he says.

Ricardo also loves spending time with friends and family, and travelling.
