This comes in the shape of the next-generation E 63 S 4MATIC+.Harnessing 450 kW from the most powerful Mercedes-AMG engine ever installed in an E-Class vehicle, this executive supersedan's 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine is capable of doing 0 to 100 km/h in a supercar rivalling 3.4 seconds. That's as fast as a Porsche 911 GT3!Top speed is an electronically-limited 250 km/h, but they can bump that up to 300 km/h if you ask for the AMG Driver's Package.It's N$1.8 million price tag seems quite fair when you tally all that torque up with all the technology they've squeezed into its sophisticated, yet stocky body.The brand is also setting new benchmarks in this market segment with its innovative technologies. The intelligent drive strategy raises the limits of the performance sedan's vehicle dynamics to a completely new level. Mercedes-AMG have added a raft of innovations to this already formidable family vehicle. Getting to grips with it allThe AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT (Multi Clutch Technology) nine-speed sports transmission is combined with a wet start-off clutch for the first time. This enables more agile response times and plenty of range to exercise your AMG orchestra.Another highlight is the completely new AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system. It combines the advantages of various drive configurations. Torque distribution on the front and rear axles, which is fully variable for the first time, ensures optimum traction right up to the physical limit in all-road conditions. Walking the talkThe foundation for the E 63 S 4MATIC+'s revolutionary dynamics is its rigid bodywork structure, which makes even the poorest roads comfortable to traverse and like the corporate conquerors that form the basis of its clientele, turns solid stretches of road into its domain and takes any environment and elevates it beyond the reach or control of lesser man or machines.The feeling of quality is clear, if not heightened to others in its stable and definitely beyond. The two front struts are even stiffer than on the E 43 4MATIC, and the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+ gains an additional two rear struts for superior rigidity.Styled to matchThe expressive exterior design, featuring a new radiator grille and coupé-style inset bonnet, underlines the performance figures. Even with its aggressive flourishes, the E 63 S 4MATIC+ cannot be called anything close to garish.
