Start while you’re still young

Mika Lucas My name is Mika Lucas. I’m studying at the Namibian University of Science & Technology (Nust). I’m studying towards a Bachelor of Communication and I’m a second-year student. Growing up, I always wanted to be an entrepreneur although when I was young, I did not know how to do it or what I wanted to do yet. The ideas came when I was at exposed to university life and that’s when everything came together.Kuest Investment was founded back in 2019 and initially started as a beverage company, and a year later in 2020 we decided to pivot and add some more services to our offerings. I work with a team of four, who are all young and were brought together by a common purpose. student entrepreneurs are usually creative individuals with a passion for helping others within their own communities, and their start-up businesses do everything from web design, to serving tea and coffee, to the development of pioneering medical technology.I want to share some information about being a student entrepreneur. Our team consists of two energetic and hardworking women. At Kuest Investment we offer various services such as graphic design, marketing & research services, IT services, electrical services as well as the beverage company which we are working hard to get off the ground.When it comes to Kuest Investment’s future plans, we intend on employing youth to help fight youth unemployment here in Namibia, as well as growing our company and launching a few beverage brands under Kuest Beverages, a Kuest Investment subsidiary. The advice I have for aspiring student entrepreneurs is that the best time to start a business is now. Start while you’re still young; when you get a bit older you will have a lot of experience and know how things work. It’s not easy but you need to take it one day at a time when you begin and learn from mistakes and setbacks as you go along the journey. Lastly, don’t be afraid to take risks.
