Standard Bank Namibia presents Back To School with Digi Youth Piggy Bank Competition

Michelline NawatisesStandard Bank Namibia in collaboration with Waka Waka Moo (A children's television programme in Namibia, which broadcasts on Namibian Broadcasting Corporation. Created by Namibian model Luis Munana, the show debuted in 2018 following three years of development) is hosting a competition for the learners all over Namibia. This competition will benefit rewards from being part of the digi youth club. The competition consists of learners from the age of 5-12 years countrywide to design a piggy bank by using their creativity. Learners aged 13-18 years can enter to design their digi youth bank card design. The artwork should have any landmark or anything that can tell us which region you are from, it should be eye-catching and easy to understand and not be too complicated.How to enter the competition:· Eligible learners must request an application form from i.wakamoo@gmail.com.· Eligible learners must print and complete the application form · Eligible learners must submit the completed application form via email to i.wakamoo@gmail.com.· All application forms should be submitted by 29 January 2021 before the close of business.There will be two main winners selected from each region, a boy and a girl. There will also be consolation prizes awarded to the selected few learners with exceptional designs from each region. The winning creativity will be distributed as part of the piggy bank range for kids to select from; more information is to be communicated with selected winners. There are cash prizes for the winning designs as well as other tangible prizes for the runners-up.Some of the 2021 Digi Youth Club Activities to look out for this year is educational comic series; digi youth talent search competition (singing, dancing, acting, fashion, art, etc); savings competition (birthdays, Christmas, special occasions etc); digi youth summer camp; digi youth online educational vlog video series and digi youth matric farewell competition.Magreth Mengo who is the marketing communications specialist of Standard Bank Namibia, mentions that the Digi Youth account is for the age group of 0-19 years. “We want to add more value to the clients as this account has benefits which suit the different ages and it aims to teach the little ones about financial literacy from a young age,” she says.Mengo further adds with regards to the Digi Youth Club that they aim to be impactful throughout the year. “This club will enable the creative juices to flow for the various age groups as it will consist of different type of creative initiatives,” she adds.Contact i.wakamoo@gmail.com for any inquiries or to request your application form.
