Standard Bank Namibia has new head of internal audit
STANDARD Bank Namibia (SBN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Magreth Tjongarero (photo) as its head of internal audit, with effect from 2 September 2011.
Her duties include the effective management of the internal audit function by providing an independent, cost effective and efficient service to the Standard Bank Namibia Board of Directors, senior management, governing bodies and other SBN stakeholders. This duty is carried out in accordance with SBN?s corporate objectives, and fulfils the purpose and responsibilities that have been approved by the Board Audit Committee.
Tjongarero has over ten years of financial and auditing experience, of which more than six have been served at SBN?s internal audit department. She has a proven track record in internal audit with comprehensive knowledge of the banking environment, applications and processes, modern internal auditing practices as well as credit risk management. Prior to joining Standard Bank Namibia, she was a trainee accountant at Deloitte & Touche where she completed her articles in 2004.
She holds a Bachelor of Accounting obtained from the University of Namibia.
