SKW awards its young stars

THE SKW Youth Soccer Academy held its year end function last Friday.
Cymot management and a number of other sponsors honoured the club by their presence. In the packed SKW FIFA sized beach soccer stadium, the excitement was kept until the end of the awards by the speech of recently elected chairman of the SKW football division, Ralph Ellinger. SKW?s Rolf Beiter guided through the evening as master of ceremonies. After an internal fun soccer tournament within the respective age groups the awards for the year 2011 were announced. The highlight of the evening was of course the announcement of the ?Player of the Year 2011? within each age group. The coaches of each training unit had the honour to present the trophies to their players with a short speech.

Remarkable was the u/17 player of the year which was won by the u/15 goal keeper Marko Zirzow. Zirzow was promoted to the u/17 side which competed in the NFA Khomas league. SKW had 10 junior players representing Namibia at international level this season.

The club expressed its thanks to all its coaches for the hard work and wishes all the best to Georg Baas and Marc Fassbender, who will not be available for the new 2012 season. Any interested coaches are welcome to hand in their CV to [email protected] Training will resume in mid November and will restart next year on 1 February 2012. Players that received awards were as follow:

Under 7 Player of the year: Sean van Rensburg Most improved player: Mark van Doorn Most ambitious player: Julian und Kai Dedig

Under 9 Player of the year: Oliver Baas Most improved player: Robin Winschiers

Under 11 Player of the year: Nikolai Pfeiffer Most improved player: Mirko Kriess
