Salon Martha sets the trend
As a businesswoman, being in the beauty industry for over 25 years, you realize that the demand is moderate and the supply is increasingly high, says Martha McNab.
“I always had strong beliefs regarding the importance of service. Nowadays, anyone can offer hairdressing services, but it takes that extra mile to satisfy your customer.
As a hairdresser, you should be able to exceed your customers’ expectations, give them a confident look and they should be pleased with the end result.
I started my first hair salon in 1992, which is now situated in Windhoek, next to the Transnamib Building, Bahnhoff Street. My way of giving back to the community, is giving out my expertise by offering training over the past 15 years. I want to empower young women, groom them and teach them the basics in order to become successful one day. Teach them they may never give up and that practice is key in this industry. I want my students to see the beauty industry through my eyes and to strive and provide excellent service quality. The beauty industry changes every second, especially with technology as one of the main factors affecting the evolution of the 21st century. So I need to stay up-to-date with the latest trends, service quality methods and products.
This includes keratin (variety available), which I personally believe is one of the most remarkable products that was ever introduced to this industry. The end results are outstanding, but that can only be obtained when it is done by a professional hairdresser in a hair salon.
In order to achieve success, an entrepreneur needs to be able to take risks and seek new and exciting business ventures. So in 2014 a second Salon Martha branched out in Rehoboth, at the new Shopping Centre, (near MTC, shop number 11).
I am beginning three new projects:
• Retail Wholesalers, which would not only be available to local hair salons, but to the public as well, at reasonable prices.
• A Hairstyling booklet, which will feature the latest products, trends, creative hairstyling ideas and a variety of tips.
• A Health and Beauty Spa Retreat (I will elaborate more about that soon).
As most already know, I have my own product, Martha’s Own, which is a natural product created by myself. It come into existence 10 years ago. Clients have received successful outcomes after using it. Not only does it help with hair growth and rejuvenates your hair as well, but this product is suitable for all ages.
We want to make your salon experience as unique and memorable as you are. Our mission is to consistently bring you the freshest styles and ideas, by keeping up with the current trends and constantly educating ourselves about the best practices. All of our stylists support one another in their personal strengths and goals within the beauty industry and the community.
