DHPS bids farewell to top academic International Abitur class.
Monque Adams
It has been a difficult year for the graduating classes of 2021, being hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic around the world.

Travel restrictions, distance learning and constant switching between online learning and face-to-face classes.

But, “crisis shows the true character” - as 43 Abitur learners of the Deutsche Höhere Privatschule Windhoek (DHPS) have impressively demonstrated.

Not only in Germany, but almost worldwide, it has been by far the best year ever.

This also applies to DHPS with an average of 2.0 (equals a mark of 79 %) and also the number of outstanding individual results - four learners with a final grade of 1.0 (100 %) and 20 learners with a 1 in front of the decimal point (85 – 100 %).

Taking responsibility, representing the school in sports, great commitment as learner representatives, participation in the school orchestra and in competitions - these learners are a strikingly a diverse group of exciting personalities who have taken advantage of the great wealth of opportunities that DHPS offers its learners to position themselves in many ways.

"Even in everyday situations, you have proven that you have matured and stand as "complete" personalities," DHPS principal Kristin Eichholz said in her speech at the ceremonial presentation of the school-leaving certificates on 29 October 2021.

“You have demonstrated another skill that helps to conquer crises: Solidarity, the strength and energy of a community. Even after the final whistle, you remain a remarkable team.

“The school community of DHPS wishes you, the best-performing Abitur class to date, all the best and much success for your future endeavours – may each and every one of you continue on your path in such an outstanding manner.”
