Recyclables recovered in Etosha
MORE than five tons of recyclables have thus far been collected as part of the Etosha Recycling Initiative which was initiated six months ago near the Okaukuejo camp.
While previous attempts at recycling in this area have failed, this project is going from strength to strength due to the excellent partnership between the recycling team in Okaukuejo lead by Michelle Kastern, Rent-A-Drum, Namibia Breweries and Etosha Transport. The five tons of recyclables thus far collected include amongst others more than three tons of glass, one ton of cans, and other recyclables such as various plastics, cardboard and paper.
Susan Brand, depot supervisor of the Namibia Breweries depot in Otjiwarongo, said: ?We take great pride in making a difference in our community, and therefore our staff is keen to go the extra mile by loading recyclables when they deliver in the park.?
