Mariselle StofbergThe radiant Erenstine Ntjamba, also known as Raven Ntjamba, is a sales consultant at the Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR). With her bubbly personality, Ntjamba can brighten up any room and situation. Even though she has loved working in an office environment, and has qualifications in office administration and computers, fate has changed the course of Ntjamba’s career. “Now I work at the most recognised wildlife company in Namibia as a sales consultant. I am very bubbly and don’t like taking things so seriously. I have always worked in the hospitality industry and NWR has certainly been the highlight of my career,” Ntjamba adds. Ntjamba works with client reservations, bookings and customer services for their various resorts and camps, with both email and telephone communication. Marketing and advertising the company via telecommunication is another facet of her responsibilities. “The idea is to have clients choose us over any other wildlife company in the country, and I must admit it works!”Even though she adores her work, the journey of her career has pushed her to sometimes work in areas outside her comfort zone. “As a hospitality worker, I have worked in all aspects of the stewardess. From waitressing, cleaning as well as in an office, but only at the end did I manage to get what I love, which is working with reservations and administration.”Ntjamba values being able to work at the head office of NWR in Windhoek and learning more about her field, being exposed to the vast opportunities to further her studies and networking possibilities she is offered.“Calls, mails and more calls basically sum up my entire day. As a consultant I start at eight in the morning and from the get-go, I make bookings, answer queries, advertise our specials to clients, reply to emails and make more bookings and of course assist with a few walk-in clients.”To Ntjamba, the best part of everything is that she loves every moment and every part of what she does. “I try to be as accurate and honest about a question asked as possible. When time presents itself, I research my job, my country and the industry I am in. One can never know enough,” she says.“I enjoy every call and I always go the extra mile for a client. Every client brings a little spark to my day. Coming to work is the best part of my day and I’m passionate about helping guests and that I think, makes me different.”Ntjamba loves simplicity and making people feel welcome and special. “I love making a difference to someone’s day. People that inspire me are people that work hard despite the obstacles and people that smile and joke despite the hardships.”She is inspired by people who make something out of nothing, and those that see obstacles as a steppingstone to their dreams. “People who see potential when even it is hard to spot, and people who know that attitude takes you places drive me to be more and do more every day,” Ntjamba says. Ntjamba encourages others to always believe in their dreams, to let God lead them to their destination and to always remain humble, teachable and approachable.“Strive to be better tomorrow than you are today. No matter what you feel, don’t give up. You have a purpose in this world. God has surprised me so much in my life that I leave it all up to Him.”
