Tanja Bause - Internasionale Bierdag word sedert 2007 jaarliks op die eerste Vrydag in Augustus gevier en het sy oorsprong in Santa Cruz, Kalifornië in Amerika. Vir die eerste vyf jaar is dit jaarliks op 5 Augustus gevier, maar 'n meningsopname het getoon dit moet eerder na die eerste Vrydag verskuif word.

Tans word dit wêreldwyd in 207 stede en 50 lande op ses kontinente gevier. Die doel is om vriende byeen te bring om saam 'n koue goue te geniet, om erkenning te gee aan bierbrouers, die wêreld onder die vaandel van bier vir 'n dag te verenig en natuurlik ook die wye verskeidenheid biere in die wêreld te vier. Ondersteuners word aangemoedig om op die eerste Vrydag in Augustus vir iemand 'n bier te koop en op die koop toe 'n bier van 'n ander land te proe.
