Do unto your mind and body as you would have them do to you, as your body is the temple of your soul. It is a lifelong quest for quality of life.It involves promotion, prevention, hygiene, screening, vaccination, contraception (family spacing, carrying capacity), restoration, rehabilitation and palliation.The components are clean air, clean water and soap, unprocessed food (farm to fork), exercise, rest, education, meaning, purpose and faith. By the age of 18 years, your compass for life should be set, for a contribution to society.Parents who neglect to vaccinate their children against Polio are guilty of criminal child abuse, if the child is paralysed. Adults who refuse Covid-19 vaccination, often have a premature date with destiny by choice, and may leave orphans behind.Your ultimate index of lifestyle is your life expectancy. In Namibia it is 57 years – 53 years for men and 61 years for women. Pension age is sixty.Something is wrong. We should aim for seventy years.Your health is your single most investment asset in life. Have an annual medical and dental check-up in your birthday week.If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.Don’t wait for a new year. Health delayed is health denied. Start today. I think, therefore I am.If you are not pregnant, and cannot see your toes, you won’t see or reach Vision 2030.Health is a positive, balanced, holistic, harmonious, curious, creative, productive and purpose driven state of physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social, material and ecological well-being, not just the absence of disease.
