Namibië JKA Karate het onlangs aan dié styl se Suid-Afrikaanse kampioenskap in Johannesburg deelgeneem. Dit was 'n internasionale kompetisie waarin beginner- en elite karateka van Botswana, Zimbabwe, Suid-Afrika en Namibië meegeding het. Namibië se groep van 17 mededingers het met altesame 35 medaljes teruggekeer. Dit sluit 21 goue, agt silwer- en ses bronsmedaljes in. Tiaan de Kock (middelste ry, links) het die trofee as die grootkampioen in kata (stylvertoon) ingepalm, terwyl Florian Ruffler (middelste ry, regs) met die skild vir die beste vertoning van heldemoed vereer is. Die Namibiërs is geloof vir hul hoë standaard asook hul algemene dissipline en goeie gedrag op en van die kompetisievloer. Die kompetisie word volgende jaar in Namibië aangebied.
