ll matches will be played at the Sam Nujoma Stadium, confirmed Cassius Moetie, FNB’s Manager for Corporate Communications.
Sara Damases, WesBank Tigers’ public relations manager, expressed her sincere appreciation on behalf of the club and thanked FNB for standing firm behind its sponsored clubs in arranging such an important intervention ahead of the kick-off NPL League in September.
“This platform will undoubtedly prepare our players well and we call on all our supporters to come in big numbers to support the Ingwenyamas during the FNB Pre-Season Football Expo.”
Confirming the call for action by WesBank Tigers was Black Africa’s coach Ali Akan, who said his club has signed players to fill critical positions in his team.
“BA is prepared for the new season and I have very high expectations. The few players we have signed will add a lot of value to the overall performance of the Lively Lions.”
George Hauwanga of FNB Oshakati City said his team is working very hard in the North. “After we launched the FNB sponsorship earlier July, FNB Oshakati City is more than ready to confront the challenges of the NPL this new season. We want to thank our sponsor for allowing the clubs to arrange this expo which allows us to exhibit the new players we have signed before the League starts in September.”
Eleven Arrows’ Managing Director, Johnny Doeseb, said his club has already played various pre-season preparatory matches in the Erongo region.
“We have started early and participating in the FNB Pre-Season Football Expo and testing my players against fellow NPL clubs is an innovation which the FNB sponsored clubs should be commended for. These are small indications that prove that football is moving in the right direction.
“We invite all football enthusiasts to the Sam Nujoma Stadium to watch local football growing from strength to strength.”
Cassius Moetie regretted to announce that African Stars, another NPL club sponsored by FNB, will not participate in the Pre-Season Expo.
“African Stars have communicated this to the organising committee to be excused from participating in this important football initiative. The four clubs running the administration of the Pre-Season Expo accepted the request by African Stars,” Moetie confirmed.
He added that none of the clubs are compelled by FNB.
