Ronelle Rademeyer - Die Namibiese hoë kommissaris in Pretoria, mnr. Veiccoh Nghiwete, het Namibiërs in en om die Gauteng-provinsie in Suid-Afrika teen die geweldadige onluste en xenofibiese aanvalle op buitelanders gewaarsku.
Hy waarsku in die lig van die geweld Nambiiërs in dié provinsie moet te alle tye waaksaam wees en gebiede wat as brandpunte beskou word, vermy.
Die Pretoriase middestad en Marabastad, die Johannesburgse middestad, Hillbrow, Turffontein, Jeppestown, Malvern en Tembisa is die dele waar onluste voorkom.
Geen Namibiërs was tot nou toe in die buurland slagoffers van geweld nie.
Intussen het die Suid-Afrikaanse minister van polisie, mnr. Bheki Cele,gesê dit is onnodig onnodig om lede van die Suid-Afrikaanse Nasionale Weermag in Gauteng te ontplooi nadat xenofobiese geweld daar uitgebreek het, berig Netwerk24.
Hy het Dinsdag by ‘n nuuskonferensie in Johannesburg gesê die polisie kan self die situasie hanteer.
Volgens Netwerk24 is vyf mense dood sedert die gewelddadige onluste Sondag in dele van Johannesburg uitgebreek het. Meer as 90 mense is in hegtenis geneem.
