Pairs title goes to Nande and Wentzel

The Federation Pairs competition was held at the Windhoek Golf and Country Club last Saturday and Sunday.This is the only competition that the Namibia Golf Federation offers during the year. As an exception, professional players were also allowed to play and win prizes.The sponsor of the competition is Safety Kit. Ernst Calitz expressed pride to have had the opportunity to once again be the sponsor of this popular event.In total 32 teams participated. No team could win two prizes, so the results must be read in that context. The course setup was long and tricky, but once again that did not stop players from dipping well under their handicaps. Gerhard Nel took the honours with a well-deserved 41 points. Eugene Lofty-Eaton secured second position with lady member/homeowner Mary-Ann Boltmann coming in third.• This weekend Omeya will host the first of two Qualifier events for the Windhoek Lager International Pairs. The Southern African as well as South Africa finals will also be hosted at Omeya.
