Overall inflation down, food up

Jo-Maré Duddy - Namibia’s overall annual inflation rate in October was 2.3%, down from 2.4% the previous month and lower than the 3.0% recorded a year ago.
Data released by the Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA) today shows overall annual inflation for food coming in at 7.5% compared to 7.1% in September. In October 2019 the rate was 4.1%.
Overall annual transport inflation, another heavyweight in the consumer basket, was -1.2% against 1.3% in September 2019. In October last year, the rate was 1.5%.
