Hoërhofregter Nate Ndauendapo het Jan Fredericks (29), die moordenaar van ‘n bejaarde onderwyser op Keetmanshoop, vandag lewenslank tronk toe gestuur.

Fredericks se vonnis in die Windhoekse hoërhof kom sewe jaar ná die aanval op me. Magrietha Thirion (64) in haar huis op dié Suidedorp.

Fredericks het Thirion op 6 November 2012 met ’n houtpaal oor die kop geslaan.

Sy is van Keetmanshoop af na die Katutura-staatshospitaal oorgeplaas waar sy die volgende dag aan haar erge hoofbeserings beswyk het.

Ndauendapo het die moordenaar op 16 Oktober skuldig bevind op twee klagte van moord met voorbedagte rade en roof met verswarende omstandighede.

Volgens bewyse tydens die verhoor het Fredericks die slagoffer van beddegoed, ’n selfoon en ’n skootrekenaar beroof.

Hy is 'n eerste oortreder, het net tot graad 10 skoolgegaan en daarná by Agra op Keetmanshoop begin werk.

Fredericks sal sy tronkstraf in die Windhoek Sentrale Gevangenis uitdien waar hy in aanhouding was. - Nampa
