New Station manager for 99FM
Effective 1 April, Sandra Williams (photo) has been appointed as the new station manager of FM99. Williams has diverse experience in management as well as administrative and technical skills that she acquired over the years through exposure to a wide variety of fields.
These include business, politics, broadcasting, media management, marketing, communications and entertainment. She says that this wideranging exposure resulted in a high level of understanding of Namibia and its social and economic complexities, the privilege to participate in invaluable corporate strategic issues and to grow and mature on a personal level.
Until recently Williams was the station manager of Base FM, where she successfully introduced a fully-fledged internal News Desk in 2007. She also successfully rebranded KCR to Base FM in 2008. Previously she held the position of Head of Marketing and Communications at NamPost and Senior Producer at the NBC.
Currently she is studying towards an MBA through the University of London. She also has a PRISA Certificate in Public Relations Management and was the Chairperson of the Namibian Chapter of the Media Institute of Southern Africa from 2008 to 2010.
