Nande aims to remain Central Open champ

Tomorrow and Sunday, the Windhoek Golf & Country Club will host the Central Open tournament, sponsored by Windhoek Lager.
Defending champion Likius Nande will return with the aim of adding the 2018 title to his already impressive resumé of wins in local tournaments.
The A division will play two rounds tomorrow, with the C division only playing one round and then all divisions will play another one round on Sunday.
The management and golf committee of WGCC would like to extend its sincerest gratitude to Windhoek Lager for their unwavering support to this event and the club in general.

• The Country Club hosted the second of nine Windhoek Lager sponsored Monthly Medley and Stableford competitions over the past weekend.
Forty players participated in total – 17 in the medal and 23 in the stableford categories.
The net results for the second round of the Monthly Medley Series were as follows:
Overall winner: Fanie Oosthuizen, 69.
A Division: Corneels Jafta, 74.
B Division: Willie Triegaardt, 70.
C Division: John Horne, 75.
Junior Division: Charlie Lohmann, 86.
Stableford: 1 Gerhard van Rooyen (37 points), 2 S Engelbrecht (34 count-out), 3 T Hollenberg (34), 4 C Dodds (32 c/o), 5 P Adkins (32)
Four lucky draw prizes were sponsored by Truck&Cab (Paul Adkins)
The club captain thanked all participants for the support and mentioned that the average number of players came down a little and now stands at 48 per weekend.
OMEYA
Last weekend Omeya Golf Club played host to 112 keen golfers in their quest to move up the order of merit for the 2018 AfricaOnline Race to Omeya Members Cup.
The course was set up a bit shorter than normal and it was evident in the scores, with Regardt Kruger dipping 9 shots under his handicap.
Omeya appreciates the loyal sponsorship of AfricaOnline and all players who supported the day.
The top three players were: 1 Regardt Kruger 45 points, 2 Ernst Nitschke 43 points (c/o), 3 Abrie van Wyk 43 points.
• Tomorrow the club kicks off its 2018 Dulux Betterball Series campaign.
Dulux decided this year to host qualifying events at clubs all over Namibia, with the final to be played at Omeya on 13 October.
