Die Namib Desert Environmental Education Trust (NaDEET), in die hartjie van die NamibRand-natuurreservaat, is as een van die drie wenners van die Verenigde Nasies (VN) se Onderwys-, Wetenskap- en Kultuurorganisasie (Unesco) se Japan-prys vir Onderwys vir Volhoubare Ontwikkeling uit 87 nominasies aangewys. NaDEET se direkteur, me. Viktoria Keding (links) en die tegniese direkteur, mnr. Andreas Keding, het verlede Dinsdag hul prys in die Franse hoofstad, Parys, ontvang. Die Namibiese ambassadeur in Frankryk, me. Frieda Nangula Ithete, asook die Namibië Nasionale Kommissie vir Unesco, het ook die toekenningsgeleentheid bygewoon. Die twee ander wenners is die Kalabia-stigting (YaKIn) van Indonesië, en die Let’s Do It-stigting van Estland. Elke wenner het 'n prys van US$50 000 ontvang. Foto Unesco
