communities. The government raises awareness regarding the cultural, legal issues concerning the youth and the importance of the youth in Namibia.

I consider youth day as a huge occasion for the Namibian youth because it helps keep them motivated and high spirited in the importance of the young generation. Youth day is one of Namibia’s biggest inspirations because the human rights of the Namibian youth are brought forward as an equal.

I don’t think Youth day in Namibia is celebrated because people don’t really see the importance of the youth. The youth is important in making change and raises awareness of the challenges and problems facing the world’s young people. It should be celebrated for young people to understand and commit to the values, attitudes, skills and knowledge required for this day.

Yes because we as a youth we are the future leaders we can make a change. Youth day gives us as the youth an opportunity to celebrate us as a whole and mainstreams young people’s voices. Our voices are extremely powerful and it should be taken into consideration.

Yes because International Youth Day gives the world an opportunity to recognize the potential of youth, to celebrate their achievements and plan for ways to better engage young people to successfully take action in the development of their societies.

Yes because we as the youth are the future leaders we can make a change. International Youth Day highlights the ways in which engagement of young people can make huge differences. It’s a day to celebrate us young people so the government and the nation should see to it that this is of importance.
