More avenues from FNB to purchase pre-paid electricity

Ester Kali, Head of FNB Retail Banking said at a media briefing that the bank launched the purchase of prepaid electricity via FNB cell phone banking on 22 February 2011 and this service was very well received by the citizens of Windhoek.

?Since its launch there has been a steady increasein customers purchasing electricity via this easy and convenient channel, now we?re back to wow our customers with yet another innovative offering ? purchasing of prepaid electricity via ATM?s and Online Banking. I see this offering as another way of keeping to our brand promise of ?How can we help you?? Kali said.

Kali went on to say that FNB Namibia once again has stepped up by making the purchase of electricity much more convenient, affordable and safer for FNB customers. ?They can now purchase prepaid electricity from the safety and security of their own homes via Online banking, or from a safe, secure ATM. All customers need is a qualifying FNB transactional account, such as a Lifestyle account, Card- Wise, BankWise, BusinessWise, etc, be registered for FNB CellPhone Banking and your electricity meter number. I think the best news is that this service is currently free of any bank charges on all three channels and only the cell phone network fees apply.?

Currently all Windhoek based FNB customersregistered for Online Banking will benefit from this initiative and plans are well underway to expand this offering to other parts of Namibia as well.
